Bernie Cesario – In Memoriam

For almost a quarter century the name Bernie Cesario has been synonymous with Commodore Bay Marina. As such it is with a heavy heart that we mourn Bernie’s passing in December. His untimely death was caused by a rare form of renal cancer with which he was diagnosed at the end of July, 2018. Bernie was just 70 years old when he passed.

During his tenure as Marina Manager Bernie oversaw major renovations and numerous facility upgrades. His hard work and dedication are largely responsible for CBM being considered to be among the finest marina’s in all of New Jersey. Before taking over as manager of CBM Bernie enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry and

was an experienced boat captain who made numerous trips to Florida and the Caribbean over a period of years. He had honed his navigation skills to a fine art and was often consulted by his friends, family and clients.

Outside of work Bernie’s interests included movies of various genres, his watch collection, music (including singing in a barbershop quartet), cars, sports and the latest tech gadgets.

Bernie will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and the entire CBM community.
